The Kenya Red Cross has begun relocating families in Galili Village after floodwaters submerged at least 25 houses, leaving residents exposed to rising water levels and worsening living conditions.
According to the humanitarian agency, its teams are currently on the ground carrying out assessments and registering affected families to determine the scale of support required.

The ongoing exercise is expected to guide emergency response efforts, including evacuation, temporary shelter arrangements and provision of humanitarian assistance.
More than 250 households remain at risk as water levels continue to rise in the area, raising fears of further displacement if the flooding persists.
The situation has prompted urgent evacuation efforts to move vulnerable families to safer ground before conditions deteriorate further.
Families affected by the floods are being relocated to the planned displacement camp in Bale, where they are expected to receive temporary shelter and support as authorities and response teams continue to monitor the situation.
According to the humanitarian organisation, the evacuation efforts are ongoing, with teams working to ensure that families in the most affected and high-risk areas are moved to safety.
The agency is also registering households to help coordinate assistance and avoid leaving out vulnerable groups, including children, older persons and people with disabilities.
The flooding in Galili Village adds to growing concerns over the impact of heavy rains in flood-prone areas, where rising water levels continue to threaten homes, livelihoods and essential services.
Humanitarian responders have urged residents in affected and at-risk areas to cooperate with evacuation teams and move to designated safe zones as water levels continue to rise.
