Leaders and stakeholders from Isiolo, Samburu, and Marsabit counties are set to convene tomorrow for a tri-county peace dialogue under the Resilient Approaches in Natural Rangeland Ecosystems (RANGe) Project, an initiative spearheaded by the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC).

The meeting, dubbed the KOM Triangle Peace Meeting, will bring together representatives from three sub-counties across the frontier region to strengthen dialogue, collaboration, and community-led peacebuilding efforts.

On the eve of the talks, the RANGe Project team paid a courtesy call to Isiolo County Commissioner Mr. David Kiprop, where they briefed him on the project’s ongoing initiatives across Isiolo, Samburu, and Marsabit.

The Commissioner was also formally invited to participate in tomorrow’s peace dialogue.

According to FCDC, the RANGe Project is designed to integrate peacebuilding, resilience, and sustainable rangeland management, ensuring that communities can withstand climate and conflict-related shocks while safeguarding their livelihoods.

The initiative is sponsored by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya, whose continued support has been instrumental in driving sustainable development and community empowerment in Kenya’s frontier counties.

The meeting is expected to strengthen cross-county cooperation, address drivers of conflict in pastoralist areas, and chart pathways toward peace and resilience in northern Kenya.
